ACL

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is a major ligament in the knee, and its tear is a common sports injury. Symptoms include severe pain, swelling, instability, and loss of range of motion. Treatment ranges from rest, physical therapy, and braces to reconstructive surgery for more severe cases.

Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure on a joint, often the knee, shoulder, or elbow. It’s used to diagnose and treat various conditions, including ACL tears, meniscal tears, and osteoarthritis. Postoperative care involves pain management, physical therapy, and sometimes, use of a brace or sling.

Bankart Lesion

A Bankart lesion is an injury of the anterior part of the shoulder joint, usually resulting from dislocation. Symptoms include shoulder instability and recurrent dislocations. Treatment may involve physical therapy to strengthen surrounding muscles or surgery (often arthroscopic) to repair the lesion.

Deformity Correction

Deformity correction involves surgical procedures to correct bone or joint deformities like bowlegs or clubfoot. The exact treatment varies based on the deformity. It often involves the use of internal or external fixation devices, followed by physical therapy.

Fracture

A fracture is a break in the continuity of the bone, often caused by trauma, overuse, or diseases that weaken the bone. Symptoms include pain, swelling, and inability to use the affected limb. Treatment options range from casting or splinting to surgical intervention for severe fractures.

Knee Pain

Knee pain is a common complaint with many causes, including injuries, arthritis, and mechanical problems. Symptoms often include pain, swelling, stiffness, and decreased range of motion. Treatment varies from rest, ice, compression, elevation (RICE protocol), pain medications, physical therapy to surgery, depending on the cause.

Lower Back Ache

Lower back ache is a common disorder involving the muscles, nerves, and bones of the back. Pain can vary from a dull constant ache to a sudden sharp sensation. Treatment includes pain relievers, muscle relaxants, exercise, physical therapy, and in severe cases, surgery.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease, often affecting the hands, knees, and hips. It’s characterized by cartilage breakdown, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced function. Treatment includes pain management with NSAIDs, physical therapy, assistive devices, weight loss, and in severe cases, joint replacement surgery.
